What Not to Use on Coated Lenses

Cleaning your lenses well isn't complicated — but it is specific. The biggest improvements usually come from changing what you wipe with, not how hard you wipe. A clean microfiber and a gel cleaner give you a level of control that sprays and shirts simply can't match.

Start with the cloth, not the cleaner

A microfiber that's been sitting at the bottom of your bag is essentially a fine grit pad. Keep two: one in rotation, one drying. Wash them weekly without fabric softener.

Less product, more technique

Most people use 4–5x the cleaner they actually need. With a gel formula, a small drop is enough for both lenses. Spread, wipe, buff dry. Done.

When in doubt, check the manufacturer

Always follow your eyewear manufacturer's care instructions. Avoid using paper towels, clothing, or abrasive materials. Test on a small area when unsure.
